A Warsaw man was arrested after police say he had sex with a girl between the ages of 14 and 16.
Court documents indicate the girl was at a friend’s house when 21-year-old Edgar Sanchez approached her in the bathroom. Sanchez touched the victim and had sex with her without her consent, according to court documents.
The probable cause affidavit says the girl’s friends were asleep when this occurred.
An adult who engages in sexual conduct with a child between the ages of 14 and 16 commits the crime of sexual misconduct, according to Indiana law.
Sanchez admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the girl and to knowing that she was between the ages of 14 and 16, according to court documents.
Sanchez was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on a felony charge of sexual misconduct with a minor. He is being held on a $30,250 bond.
