The Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety has approved the Warsaw Police Department applying for a grant to purchase bulletproof vests. The U.S. Department of Justice and Bureau of Justice Assistance is again offering the bulletproof vest partnership program. The partnership grant pays half the cost of bulletproof vests for law enforcement officers. The police department budget will pay for the initial cost of the vests, and the partnership grant will reimburse half the cost to the city. The grant will supply seven vests at approximately $8,400.
