A Warsaw resident was honored on Tuesday morning as the Kosciusko County Veteran of the Month.

Veteran Service Officer Rich Maron introduced 74-year old Gary Hurd during the county commissioners meeting. Hurd served in the Air Force starting in November 1965 and was discharged in November 1969. Hurd was assigned to an air base in Smyrna, Tennessee for a little over two years before being moved overseas to The Philippines and had some assignments in Vietnam.

After serving, he worked with Kosciusko REMC for 31 years and married his wife Sandra in March of 1970. He is now fully retired.
