A Warsaw teen is being credited of saving the lives of two young girls at a Michigan City beach this month.
Connor Suissi was swimming with his family at the Washington Park Beach on Father’s Day. They took a break for lunch, and as they did, a group of young swimmers went into the water.
Suissi, who will start his senior year at Warsaw Community High School in August, noticed the young girls were out a ways from shore, and then he heard them starting to call for help. Suissi says the girls had been swept off a sandbar and were caught in the undertow.

Suissi has no formal lifeguard training, but raced into the water and personally saved
two of the six girls from drowning.
Signs were posted warning swimmers that there were no lifeguards that day and to swim with caution.
