SYRACUSE – Wawasee Community School Corporation Board of Trustees held a special session Tuesday to discuss Milford School projects and tech support for the corporation.
The Milford School projects to take place this summer were awarded to Milestone Construction, Syracuse, for $1,960,900. The bid was suggested by Brian Bohlender of Barton, Coe, Vilamaa Architects.
Construction will include a renovated cafeteria area, small gym, mechanical room and two computer labs. The main gym will receive new basketball goal posts and a sound system.
The technology director for the corporation, Dave Van Lue, presented the Fiscal Year 2016 Category 2 project. This project will enhance the technology capabilites for the schools in preparation for the 1:1 technology implementation for the next school year.
The deal was for $450,402 but the district expects to have 70 percent of that covered by grants, leaving the total at $135,121.
The board also discussed a resolution to not support the ISTEP pilot training program for this spring.
