WCHS Band Places 3rd At State


The Warsaw Community High School Marching Tigers’ Pride placed third in the state at Scholastic State Finals. WCHS was one of 13 marching bands in the Scholastic A class to qualify for the Indiana State School Music Association Scholastic State Finals, which were held at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis Saturday. Warsaw placed third, just behind seond place LaPorte and first place Chesterton. The Tigers’ Pride earned third with a performance of their 2015 program, “While the City Sleeps…”  The show utilizes the music of composers John Mackey, Samuel Hazo and Michael Markowski combined with visuals and staging that represent a dark and gritty urban setting. The WCHS band is under the direction of Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel.
