The Warsaw Community High School Band will present “The Sounds of the Season” Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
The concert will feature the WCHS flute choir, clarinet choir, saxophone ensemble, brass quintet, low brass ensemble, jazz band, percussion ensemble and combined concert bands performing a variety of seasonal and holiday songs. The program will include music from “The Grinch,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Let It Snow,” “The Nutcracker,” “December Snow” by The Moody Blues and more.
Admission to the concert is free, but donations for The Community Closet will be accepted. The Community Closet distributes household items, such as personal hygiene products, laundry and household cleaning supplies, and infant-care products, to local families in need. Concert attendees may bring items such as diapers (all sizes), toothbrushes, toilet paper, deodorant, shampoo, laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, toothpaste, bar soap or body wash. These will be collected in the Performing Arts Center lobby prior to the concert.
Monetary donations also will be accepted. Checks should be made out to First United Methodist Church with Community Closet written in the memo line. One hundred percent of all monetary donations are used to purchase products such as the ones listed above, which are then distributed to local families in need.
