Warsaw Community Schools has partnered with Live Well Kosciusko to offer a program titled Outrun the Sun for all kindergarten through second graders.
Through this program, a total of 1,629 UV ray exposure color-changing bracelets were ordered and distributed to all students in grades K-2. These bracelets turn from white to blue in order to indicate to students when they are exposed to harmful UV rays.
Students also received instruction through the Outrun the Sun program on how to prevent UV exposure as they prepare for outdoor summer activities. The program educates students about skin cancer and the dangers of ultraviolet rays.
