Pet Photo Winner
Milford Public Library held a pet photo contest in January. We asked the community to take a photo of their pet “reading” a book and email the photo to the library. The staff had a good laugh at the intense looks on some faces the pets made. There were eight pet photos, several cats, dogs, and one mini horse! Boy, was it hard to choose which beloved pet to receive a $50 PetSmart gift card. Congratulations to Anita Hernandez and her dog, Mr. Pee-Wee! Please visit the libraries Facebook page to see all the adorable pets reading!
Our activity for February is to make a chew toy for furry friends. The kit can be picked up at the Adult Circulation desk. Follow the directions included inside and bring your chew toy back to the library. We will donate them to a local animal shelter.
Virtual Piano Concert
One week only, pianist Dan Fogel, will perform music from video games, TV shows and movies that we all know and love. Sign up in the Adult Department, phone 658-4312 or register on our website (www.milford.lib.in.us). The library will send a YouTube link to those who register beginning Monday, February 15 through Saturday, February 20. This is a free program, and available to anyone-no library card is required. Let’s have fun and see how many songs you recognize and sing along!
Tax Forms
In previous years the IRS provided tax forms to the library. Unfortunately that is not the case for the 2020 tax season. The library staff is happy to help you print the tax forms you need for federal and state at no charge. We ask that you know the form’s name or number, so we can help more effectively.
Staff In-service
On Tuesday, February 9, Milford Public Library will be closing at 4:00 pm for a staff in-service meeting. The library will reopen at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 10. If you would like to return your books or DVD’s, please use the drop boxes located on the outside of the Catherine Street entrance. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Library Take Out…..Books!
We all love take out! In the month of February, when you “take out” library materials, we will give out a Valentine fortune cookie! We love love so be sure to check out our great selection of Romance novels. Popular authors include Nora Roberts, Julia Quinn, Jude Deveraux and Nicholas Sparks. Maybe you are looking for a romantic DVD. We recommend Titanic, The Best of Me, Some Kind of Beautiful, The Notebook, and many more.
