Whitko Community Schools Superintendent Steve Clason is retiring.
The Times Union reports the announcement was made during a regular school board meeting on Monday.
Last year, Clason’s contract was renewed for an additional three years, extending his employment to the end of 2021.
Still, after 40 years of working in education and 10 of that at Whitko, Clason says he has other things requiring his time and attention.
“I live in the Whitko area and I’ll always be a Wildcat,” he said.
Clason’s retirement is effective July 1.
