WINONA LAKE – The Village at Winona in Winona Lake will kick off the Christmas season with its annual Christmas lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26.
The event will happen on Park Avenue near Eagle Creek and Orthocity BBQ and will include a visit from Santa Claus, train rides, refreshments and a fire truck.
The Village at Winona also is teaming up with Toys for Tots for another annual toy collection.
Activities begin at 1:30 p.m. with train rides and Christmas caroling, and continues until 6:30 p.m.
Toys for Tots will have a collection point and is seeking new and unwrapped toy donations.
Beginning at 2 p.m., the Stinson Player Organ will be on display and demonstrated by Karl Rider.
Beginning at 4:30 p.m., Santa will be greeting children and free cookies and hot chocolate will be available.
The lighting ceremony, with the help of the Winona Lake Fire Department, is set for 6:15 p.m.
The Village at Winona is a collection of shops along Park Avenue on the east side of Winona Lake.
