Kosciusko County got it’s first real taste of winter yesterday with snow beginning in the afternoon and continuing until nighttime.
Road crews worked through the evening to make sure roads were ready for Monday morning’s commute. The roads are clear, but you’re still being encouraged to slow down and keep a safe distance from other vehicles.
Although not a lot of accumulation occurred overnight, we will get an even greater taste of winter this week. National Weather Service Meteorologist Mark Steinwedel of the Northern Indiana Office in Syracuse tells News Now Warsaw we are in for a bout of bitter cold.
“We’re going to have a really strong cold front come through either Wednesday or earl Thursday and behind that we will really get our first push of colder air, including some below normal temperatures,” said Steinwedel.
By Friday, the temperatures are expected to be in the 20s.
