A woman found asleep behind the wheel of her van is facing multiple charges, according to Pierceton Police Officer Matthew Owens. He told WANE-TV, officers found 20-year-old Rachel Stevens at a gas pump early Tuesday morning on St. Rd. 13 near U.S. 30. Several illegal drugs were found inside her van. During the investigation, police discovered Stevens had left a 9-month-old daughter in a hotel room in Fort Wayne. However, Stevens couldn't identify the person she left he child with, but did know the hotel and room number. The hotel room was found empty, but police were able to make contact with the man caring for the child, who was turned over to the Department of Child Services unharmed. Stevens is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail. No bond has been set.
