A Syracuse man charged with two counts of murder has requested a venue change so he can receive a fair trial. Scott Lennox, attorney for Brandon T. Woody, filed the motion to change the venue from Kosciusko County this morning. Woody is charged in the shooting death of a man in Syracuse on Feb. 19 and the shooting of a woman who later died in hospital. The venue changed was requested to avoid the possibility of an unfair trial because of public hostility, public outrage over the offense, prejudicial media coverage and speculative opinions, the request states. If the request is not granted, Lennox said it might be difficult finding 14 people who are not already prejudiced against Woody during jury selection.
