Work on the east-west railroad tracks in Warsaw along Detroit Street will close down the crossing for several days soon.
Mayor Joe Thallemer talked about the work during Wednesday’s Traffic Safety Commission meeting at city hall. He said officials from Chicago, Fort Wayne and Eastern Railroad contacted the city about the work that will take place within the next couple of weeks.
The work will shut down the crossing on Detroit Street and will last roughly five days. Thallemer mentioned that he requested the railroad start the work on a weekend rather than on a Monday to avoid closures for a full work week.
More details about the work are expected leading up to the closures.
