YMCA of Kosciusko County announced that it has hired Matt Goebel, the organization’s first Director of Christian Emphasis. Goebel will be a key liaison between the YMCA and the community to help provide spiritual support for members, staff and volunteers. The position was funded by a grant from the Wildman Family Foundation. Chad Zaucha, the CEO of the Kosciusko Community YMCA says, “Our new Director of Christian Emphasis will position the YMCA to be more intentional and personal in fulfilling its mission. Matt has joined us to love, serve and care for our staff, members and volunteers. We are so thankful to the Wildman Family Foundation for helping us create this new ministry position to assist in spiritually impacting people should they desire the Y’s help.” Goebel served at Warsaw Community Church for 10 years in various roles including leading student ministries, preaching and discipleship development. He has also been a volunteer Chaplain for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for the past year offering crisis counseling and spiritual support. Goebel will begin his new position with the YMCA this January.
